Endodontic Specific 3-D Imaging

3-D imaging provides dynamic anatomically accurate information that is hidden in 2-D images. We use the Morita Veraview x800 Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) scanner, providing the best available resolution for 3-D imagining. This allows us to plan for critical anatomical structures and unusual anatomy for safer and more precise treatment.

Surgical Microscopes

Every endodontic procedure in our office is performed using Zeiss surgical microscopes. Their legendary optics, high powered LED lighting, and magnification up to 21.25x provide exceptional visualization for the highest technical accuracy and diagnosis. Our microscopes also have built in high-resolution cameras that allow still images and video to be taken, providing you with additional information regarding your tooth.

Laser Assisted Endodontic Treatment & Pain Management

The Fotona LightWalker II is a dual wavelength laser (Er:YAG and Nd:YAG). The dual system allows for advanced endodontic irrigation for more complete disinfection of the root canals, along with advanced healing and pain management.

Advanced Endodontic Irrigation

Super Short Pulse (SSP) and Shock Wave Enhanced Emission Photo-acoustic Streaming (SWEEPS®) endodontic laser treatment successfully addresses a major disadvantage of classical chemo-mechanical treatment procedures: the inability to completely clean, debride and disinfect anatomically complex root canal systems. With SSP and SWEEPS® irrigation, the irrigant is delivered throughout the complete root canal system, including within the lateral canals and dentinal tubules.

  1. The SSP (Super Short Pulse) irrigation (also known as Photon-Induced Photo-acoustic Streaming) uses the Er: YAG laser to create non-thermal photoacoustic waves within the cleaning and debriding solutions introduced in the canal. Following this photoacoustic treatment, the canals and sub-canals are left clean, and the dentinal tubules are free of a smear layer.
  2. The latest SWEEPS® (Shock Wave Enhanced Emission Photo-acoustic Streaming) Er: YAG laser modality additionally improves the irrigation and disinfecting efficacy of laser endodontics. By using synchronized pairs of ultra-short pulses, an accelerated collapse of laser-induced bubbles is achieved, leading to enhanced shockwave emission even inside the narrowest root canals.

Pain Management

Photobiomodulation (PBM) provides a clinically proven, non-invasive solution for a wide variety of wound healing and pain management applications. PBM utilizes low-level, visible-red to near-infrared light energy, which stimulates cells to naturally heal, relieve pain and reduce inflammation. Additionally, the process results in accelerated tissue regeneration, stimulation of cell metabolism, increased lymphatic flow and stimulation of micro-circulation.

Advanced Biocompatible Materials

We use only the latest biocompatible sealing materials and filling compounds that promote optimal healing and long-term success. These primarily calcium-silicate based material create superior seals, resist bacterial invasion, and integrate naturally with your tooth structure. Their physical properties make them ideal for endodontic microsurgery, pulpal regeneration of immature teeth, and sealing root canals.

Digital Patient Software

Our endodontic specific software allows your general dentist to access your chart directly, where they can review your treatment record with us, any procedure notes, and images taken. This is a HIPAA compliant system that allows for quicker and more secure communication between the doctors involved in your dental care.
